This class of licence is one of the most common that is used on our roads today, most service buses and a multitude of delivery vehicles have only two axles, combined with a GVM over 8 Tonnes, this makes them a Class MR. The majority of these vehicles are either automatic or a 5 or 6 speed Synchromesh (manual) gearbox. It is extremely unlikely that a modern driver would come across a Medium Rigid truck or bus fitted with a Constantmesh (Roadranger) gearbox.
If you pass the course in our MR Automatic you will also be allowed to drive an MR manual.
This class of vehicle can be used for an upgrade by clients who are on their Green P-Plates (note Red P-Plates cannot upgrade to any licence class). If you can competently drive an automatic or manual car, then our vehicles should not present too many problems for you and you should be able to complete the course in the prescribed one day. We have both Automatic and Manual transmission available.

Just like your course we like to make things as simple for you as possible, just follow these six easy steps and let us take care of your needs –
- Pass a Knowledge Test at your local Motor Registry. (practice for free here)
- While you are at the Motor Registry, pass an RMS Eyesight Test.
- (Still at the Motor Registry) - Purchase a CBA Logbook & Guidebook.

- Come along for our MR training Course.
- On successful completion of the course we issue you with a certificate - take your certificate to the RMS - pick up new licence.
Cost, duration & location
The Medium Rigid (MR) course is normally conducted in one day at our Arndell Park training centre (near Eastern Creek) and the total cost is $950.00.
